Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, spokeswoman for the Tunisian Red Crescent, Buthaina Qaraqba, revealed the organization’s Ramadan program. Qaraqba noted that the Red Crescent has initiated its annual “Ramadan Basket” donation collection across all states of the Republic and local authorities, seeking to support Tunisians in need.
Qaraqba emphasised that these donations would be distributed across the Republic’s territory, encompassing all delegations in each Tunisian Red Crescent locality, as well as at the regional and National Authority levels. These efforts are conceived to bolster the Red Crescent’s capabilities and ease the provision of Ramadan baskets to those in need.
Further, the organization’s representative confirmed the launch of a new social program each year in conjunction with the Ramadan festivities. This year, the emphasis is on assisting women who work from their houses, baking bread and “malsuqa,” to guarantee their daily livelihood. As part of this initiative, the Red Crescent plans to distribute Farina to over 1,000 women across Tunisia.
Qaraqba announced that the floor distribution would begin on Monday in some states, with the rest to follow. The goal is to aid as many women as possible, she emphasized.
