Young publishers exhibiting in Hall 2 of the fair palace du Kram revealed to Tunisie Numérique today November 14, 2021, their viewpoints on the 36th edition of the International Book Fair.
Increase in the number of visitors:
“After two years hiatus, this edition has earned a good number of visitors. It is further marked by the exhibition of more than 100 new editions with attractive reductions (..) Our mission is to give young people back the taste for reading. ”, Declared Mrs Zeineb Ben Othman, the young founder of the house edition and distribution “Nahnou”.
Young neglected publishers:
“Despite the wealth of our new editions, the fair coordinators did not give us stands in Hall 1, kept for the old publishing houses. In addition, at the opening of the Fair, the supervisors (President Kais Saied and the Minister of Culture) did not visit our stands in Hall 2, when it was important to promote and encourage young publishers! », She clarified.
Ms Ben Othmen further remarked on the absence of media publicity about the fair, including the announcement of dedication days.
“We need to give young people an opportunity because they are the future, I call on the authorities to be indulgent with us on all fronts,” she concluded.
In general, the young exhibitors in Hall 2 recorded the influx of young visitors and the purchase of novels largely and emphasized the injustice they experience.
