House of people representatives MP Hatem Mliki affirmed the need to respect the code of conduct among MP’s, adding that they have beforehand mentioned the role of the parliament in ensuring the functioning of the deputies in good conditions.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, he emphasised that the fundamental role of the parliament presidency is to ensure equality between the 217 MP’s by providing them with the equivalent workspace and not to abuse the deputies, considering that the House speaker bears the primary responsibility for mismanagement.
He further pointed out that Mismanagement and governance of Parliament are displayed in the selection of its house speaker advisers, adding that it is understandable for Ghannouchi to appoint advisers close to him, but that does not mean that the administration of the parliament shifts into two components from one side.
Our speaker added that there are several practices that prove the lack of neutrality in Parliament by not dealing with the various deputies in an equal manner, similar to what occurred with MP’s Affes and Moussi.
