Prime minister Hichem Mechichi arrived, Sunday, March 7, 2021, to Ben Guerdane, to join the commemoration of the fifth year of “The Battle of Ben Guerdane ”, a victory won in 2016 by the security forces, the army and the citizens of the city against a terrorist commando who came to attack the city.
Delivering a speech, Mechichi hailed the self-sacrifice of the inhabitants of Ben Guerdan and their defence of the nation, ensuring that history will remember this battle as a victory of courage and bravery against terrorism and its intention establish an Emirate in the region.
He added that this victory echoes the spirit of sacrifice and self-sacrifice to the homeland at all costs, paying tribute to the forces of the interior, the army and the citizens for their determination.
The PM indicated that this spirit of sacrifice for the motherland still inspires security forces and the army as well as the will of the leaders until the complete victory over terrorism and its eradication.
He vowed that the government will continue its efforts to equip and strengthen the human and material resources of the security forces and the army, guaranteeing that they can count on their unity and professionalism to win the battle.
