Tunisia-Yosri Dali : Kais Saied designation for Hichem Mechichi is Grave breach of the constitution

Speaking to Mosaique FM, Al Karama Coalition member Yosri Dali that the designation of Hichem Mechichi by President of the Republic Kais Said to lead the consultations to form the next government, to be a grave breach of the constitution that cannot be confirmed in the absence of the Constitutional Court.

He justified his position in accordance with Article 89 of the constitution which stipulates the President shall consult with political parties, coalitions, and parliamentary groups, with the objective of asking the person judged most capable to form a government

The same source stated that he considers the prime minister-designate to be distinguished in terms of morals and ethics and has an exceptional deal of communication efficiency, but the Coalition raises several questions at the political level regarding his ability to form a government according to the parliamentary majority so that he can assemble his parliamentary belt or satisfy all parties. He added the coalition also questioned his ability to advance Tunisia economically in light of the suffocating crisis that the country is going through and his ability to provide funds, or that his closeness to the President of the Republic will hinder him from gathering the large parliamentary parties that can support him politically.

Dali indicated that the Political Bureau of Al Karama Coalition will meet tomorrow, July 27, 2020, and will issue a statement that includes a decision on how to deal with the person in charge of forming the government and whether or not to enter into consultations.
