Tunisia-Yassine Ayari: Kais Saied does not have the right to refuse to take the oath

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, MP Yassine Ayari addressed the cabinet reshuffle, saying that what is occurring currently is scandalous. According to him, President Kais Saied does not have the right to reject taking the oaths of the new ministers.

He revealed that the Head of State has a restricted competence and that the constitution does not leave him the chance of accepting or declining the finalization of the appointment procedure.

He added in the same context that the prime minister has twice asked Kais Saied to define which ministers are suspected of corruption, however, he has so far not responded to this question, demonstrating that he has nothing against them.

The MP also spoke about the expulsion of fourth-year medical student Wajih Dhokkar from the Faculty of Medicine in Tunis. Yassine Ayari said that Higher Education Minister Olfa Ben Ouda’s answer was disappointing. He felt that the student has the right to express himself freely as long as he does not pass legal limits.
