The Pentagon is activating 1,600 active-duty troops and deploying them to the region of Wahington DC, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Jonathan Rath Hoffman revealed in a statement.
The move to activate the units near the nation’s capital was made in response to the escalating protests in the country over the death of George Floyd.
