United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths (pictured) said he is “appalled” after the latest operation in Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, carried out by the Israeli military.
“The protection of newborns, patients, medical staff and all civilians must override all other concerns,” the official published on X, formerly known as Twitter. He added that medical centers “are not battlegrounds.”
