Government of National Accord Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha announced that the Tripoli government would formally request Turkey for military assistance.
“We have the right to protect Tripoli and legitimacy,” he said during a press conference in Tunis.
“If Tripoli falls, Tunisia and Algeria will fall,” he said, referring to Libya’s two neighbours.
Bashagha further stated the Tripoli government was operating with Turkey, Tunisia and Algeria to achieve economic partnership and security stability.
