Eight newborn infants passed away in a fire in the maternity wing in Algeria. The fierce blaze erupted on Tuesday in the local hospital in the town of El Oued, 360 miles southwest of the capital.
A official total of 11 babies, 107 women and 28 crews was miraculously saved in the fire, Captain Bernaouian emergency services spokesperson told “Agence France-Presse.
“Unfortunately, we regret the deaths of eight babies, some from burns and others from smoke inhalation,” he said.
