Facebook Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday that his company will rebrand as “Meta.”
“The new company brand” will “encompass everything that we do,” Zuckerberg said during the Facebook Connect event, specifying that the company’s apps and brands won’t change. “From now on, we’re going to be Metaverse first, not Facebook first,” meaning that “over time, you won’t need to use Facebook to use our other services,” he also explained.
In a separate announcement, the company also revealed that it “intends to start trading under the new stock ticker that the company reserved, MVRS, on December 1.”
