Lawyer Imed Ben Halima stated that House speaker Rached Ghanouchi is working to rule the country.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, Mr Halima said that late president Beji Caid Essebsi has restrained Ghannouchi to a degree. He pointed out that since his election as House speaker he has begun to speak with other parliaments as part of parliamentary diplomacy.
He concluded that Ghanouchi is a swindler since he alleged that he visits to other countries was as Ennahdha leader when in reality he was doing so as president of parliament.
He further stressed that Ghannouchi position as House speaker allows him to attend the national security council on Libya, while in reality, his stands are in the direct position of the country which denotes an attack on the country’s diplomacy.
Ben Halima stated that Ghanouchi presence at meetings of the National Security Council represents a danger because he is in touch with many countries included in the Libyan file, like Turkey and Qatar. He, therefore, called on President Kais Saïed to exclude him from these meetings.
