An additional 1.585 people tested positive for coronavirus after 40 96 tests were performed on October 23, the Health Ministry said on Saturday. This takes total infection numbers to 48,799.
35 more COVID-19 fatalities were reported, bringing the death toll to 819 the Ministry further said.
1063 (+5) patients are currently hospitalised, including 169 (+6) in intensive care and 102 (+4) on life support.
