The government approved, on Thursday afternoon, after a ministerial council, the announcement of the state of a health emergency. This state of emergency permits , in particular, the government to:
- Take all required measures to fight against the spread of the disease
- The establishment of targeted or general lockdown when needed
- Control the residence of people who are carriers of the disease
- Forcing patients not to leave their houses or places of confinement
- Decide on travel restrictions for people and vehicles
- Regulate the many activities and the organization of ceremonies of all sorts
- Decide on economic and social measures accompanying restrictive measures
- Application of fines for non-compliance with the measures decided, up to imprisonment
