Citizens against the coup ”announced that it will be holding a protest  ”in front of the municipal theatre in Tunis, at 10:00 a.m. on December 17, 2021, and until 14 January.
“Let us all mobilize from all corners of the nation and stand up in memory of the outbreak of the Revolution of Freedom and Dignity, in which we inaugurate a course of intense militancy in the roads throughout the month of the Revolution until January 14, the anniversary of the escape of the deposed (president) ”, reads a press release.
“We will, with your persistence and perseverance, make it the memory of the closure of the arc of the odious coup, the end of all its exceptional measures and the resumption of the path of democratic construction.”
The movement told it is a protest “to set the roadmap of the citizens’ democratic incentive against the coup
  • Resume the work of the parliament to finish institution-building
  • Defend the Constitution of the Revolution and confront all forms of attacks against it
  • Dealing with all sorts of targeting of justice, violation of rights and freedoms and unilateral authority
  • Save the nation from a coup d’état which will lead the country to socio-economic collapse and which will destroy the last remaining components of a decent life for our people and prevent any form of retraction of the gains, in particular the law 38 , which will do justice to young unemployed Tunisians for a long time.
  • Fix a date for early presidential and legislative elections, in which there will be recourse to the people and the lost legitimacy will be renewed.
According to the same source, these elections are a chance for everyone to compete for democratic governance projects that satisfy the expectations of the people after years of a “betrayed” Revolution and a failing political track that has not been in measure  to “carry out socio-economic projects or development that would create wealth distributed equitably between individuals and the people”
