Tunisia-Citrus harvest in Tunisia: A promising recovery for 2023-2024

After a mixed year in 2022, optimism is on the horizon for the citrus harvest in Tunisia for the 2023-2024 financial year. According to projections from the Nabeul Regional Union of Agriculture and Fisheries, the harvest should reach almost 360,000 tonnes, marking a substantial increase of 25% compared to the previous year.

Despite this positive outlook, concerns remain over fruit size, with half of the crop predicted to be small, which could pose challenges for export.

The Cap Bon region should play a significant role by representing 74% of production. Industry players stress the importance of finding solutions to improve the size of fruit intended for export, in order to optimize the value and overall quality of the harvest.
