Observers of the Tunisian political scene are starting to worry about the bipolarity that has taken hold since July 25. A bipolarity that is founded on electoral legitimacy. Since, on the one hand, there is the President of the Republic, strong in his electorate and desires to establish himself as the only legitimate source of power and on the other hand, there are the MPs and representatives of political parties who likewise assert a certain legitimacy through the ballot box, even if it is challenged by Kaïs Saïed, by virtue of this legitimacy, these deputies even claim the status of centre of power, insofar as they consider themselves the representatives of the people, the supreme source of power in Tunisia.
A very high-risk bipolarity, which has been put in since July 25, and which threatens to turn for the worst, namely, conflicts, and an undeniable risk of civil war. Since it is no secret that these two parties are playing on their survival.
And it is with this concern and in an try to break this formidable face to face, a third way is emerging and is in the process of breaking through, to try to find a place on the stage. A third way which likes to be that of the reason.
But to be accomplished, this third way must likewise enjoy a particular legitimacy with the people. This is why it tries to join prominent national personalities, and deputies, who can also claim to represent the people.
This group is, still, in the process of making, and one can quote, among its current members:
Ahmed Nejib Chebbi, Faouzi Abderrahmen, Mustapha Ben Ahmed, Hassouna Nasfi, Iyadh Elloumi, Walid Jalled and Mehdi Abdeljaoued…
It must be said, too, that these personalities are pushing, somewhere, to take back a place in the sun, because they are falling into the abyss of oblivion, thanks to the battle at the top between Saïed and his opponents of “citizens against the putsch ”!
