Tunisia-JCC Organizing Committee: “34th session is technically ready”

The Organizing Committee of the 34th session of the JCC confirmed on Monday that the session is technically ready.

The JCC Organizing Committee presented the state of preparation accomplished by the 34th session of the Carthage Cinematographic Days initially planned from October 28, 2023, to November 4, 2023.

He indicated that the selection of films to be presented by this session has been conducted in accordance with the regulations since August 2023 and this is for the different sections of the festival which are all ready.

It added to add that the list of films in competition for fiction and documentaries has already been issued, as well as the announcement of the removal of any festive aspect for this session in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The festival materials were painted in the colours of the Palestinian flag.

“All of the films involved are present in Tunis, ready to be screened in theatres, including the film which was to be presented first, “Jenine 2023” by Palestinian filmmaker Mohamed Bakri who offered this screening at the JCC as a World Premiere”, says the JCC organizing committee.

Likewise, the films of the various Tributes including the tribute to the Palestinian filmmaker Hany Abu Assad, with a selection of his films, as well as the films relatedto the “Senegal Guest Country” event and the “Special Focus” on Jordan are also ready to be presented.

The committee confirmed that the “events” section and the general management of the festival have also prepared all the necessary arrangements, including that of the open-air hall “Ciné Avenue” on Avenue Bourguiba in Tunis, intended to accommodate, as announced, free screenings of Palestinian films made available to the JCC free of charge by the producers, distributors and rights holders concerned.
