President Kais Saied welcomed President of the National Counter-Terrorism Commission (French: CNLCT) Mounir Ksiksi at Carthage presidential palace.
During the meeting, Mr Ksiksi handed over to the Head of State the first report of the CNLCT for the 2016-2019 period, following to Article 70 of the Organic Law No. 26 of 2015 on the fight against terrorism and the suppression of money laundering.
Under this clause, the national counter-terrorism commission draws up a yearly report on its actions. That report must incorporate recommendations for developing national counter-terrorism mechanisms.
The report shall be given to the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives and the Prime Minister.
It must likewise be reviewed by a parliamentary select committee.
