The general secretary of the secondary education union, Lassaâd Yaâkoubi, announced that the relationship between the UGTT and the Presidency of the Republic has declined recently and has become cold.
Speaking on national radio, Yaâkoubi stated that the two parties must resume dialogue, emphasising that the social choices proposed by the President of the Republic are at the core of the UGTT’s convictions. Lassaad Yaakoubi further affirmed that the UGTT can only support the head of the state in his battle against corruption.
He said that the President of the Republic, Kais Saied responded on July 25, 2021 to the aspirations of the Tunisian people as well as those of the UGTT expressing his hope to see an advancement in the relationship between the two parties.
