The launch of the high-speed train happened yesterday, Friday, July 23, 2021, on line E connecting Barcelona station to Bougatfa station. The Ministry of Transport said that the launch took place two days before the deadline fixed previously, on July 25.
This line will decrease the pressure on urban public transportation in the capital by facilitating movement in densely populated neighbourhoods as part of a transport system that secures the safety and comfort of citizens. Line E has five stations spread over the route of the line: Najah, Tayaran, El Zouhour, Hrayria and Bougatfa.
Transport Minister Moez Chakchouk called for work to be proceeded at a sustained pace to finalize this project so that the train can be operated before the commencement of the school year, recalling that the official inauguration will take place in a few weeks, under the supervision of prime minister Hichem Mechichi.
