New regulations relating to the salaries and benefits of governors were published in Jort No. 95 of September 22, 2020 in government decree No. 769.
The details of governors’ salaries:
– A base salary of 1300 dinars
– A representation bonus of 1050 dinars
– A liability premium of 1250 dinars
– A premium for recovering expenses related to liability of 1780 dinars
A travel bonus of 50 dinars per day is also allocated to governors when it comes to travel outside the governorate and outside Tunisia.
In terms of related benefits, governors are provided with official accommodation. Furnishings, water, electricity and telephone charges are the responsibility of the state up to a limit to be set by a decision of the head of government. If the governor does not benefit from official accommodation, this is replaced by a bonus of 500 dinars.
Governors will also have two housekeepers, two cars and two drivers with gas coupons of up to 500 liters per month. All the benefits cited including accommodation are valued at a value of 600 dinars per month. The governors will benefit from these salaries and benefits for a period of three months after the end of their functions, regardless of the duration of these.
