The Ministry of Families, Women, Children and the Elderly issued a press release this Monday in which it reported that since the beginning of 2023, 89 decisions to close early childhood establishments were issued.
Among the closure decisions, 26 decisions for breach of the provisions of chapters 15, 20, 22, 23 and 26 of the specifications regulating the sector, in relation to the administrative and educational organization and the conditions of the store and equipment, and the failure of promoters and their interchange with the observations of the inspection and educational advisory teams and the inability to aim to improve the situation of their institutions despite the deadlines given. 57 closure decisions were issued at the request of the promoters and 6 decisions due to the lack of activity of the establishment, without the promoter notifying the ministry’s control bodies.
Most of these establishments are in the large cities of the governorates of Tunis, Ben Arous, Ariana, Manouba, Sousse, Monastir, Sfax and Médenine.
