Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the Deputy Secretary-General of the General Federation of STEG Agents Monji Khlifa talked about the strike carried out by the agents of the company which continues for the 2nd straight day. “As a trade unionist, I have to protect the socio-economic rights of my coworkers who suffer from a tough social situation following the decline of their purchasing power. We are calling for deep dialogue with the supervisory authorities to find a solution to these problems and fulfil our demands, including the payment of the economy and management bonus. The authorities have confirmed that they are ready to meet our demands in exchange for the privatization of the company. Something impossible and unacceptable by all STEG workers!” did he declare.
