The motion of no confidence against House speaker Rached Ghannouchi will be secretive and without debate, the parliamentary bureau announced. This session will take place this Thursday, July 30, 2020, from 9 to 11 a.m. Each deputy will be called upon to vote individually, as in the election of the House speaker.
An official source from the parliament bureau said that these measures comply with article 51 of the Constitution which stipulates that the withdrawal of confidence of the speaker of the parliament is by ballot.
On the other hand, Walid Jalled, president of the Tahya tounes bloc considered that this decision did not respect articles 107, 110, 126 and 127 of the rules of procedure of the Assembly.
