Tunisia-Mousawat programme Kicks off hackathon to fight gender based-violence

As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the European Union-funded Moussawat (equality) programme, which endeavours to uphold the policy of gender equality, is starting a hackathon to fight gender-based violence.
Enrollment for this digital innovative contest is open from November 2 to 16. The 72-hour hackathon will be started online from November 27 at noon and will conclude on November 30. The Ministry of Women, Family and the Elderly will supervise, in coordination with UN Women Tunisia and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the organisation of this competition.
Speaking to the TAP agency, Gender specialist in the Moussawat programme Anis Zahraz said that the competition tries to bring together as several young innovators as possible to create and develop digital content.
He pointed out that at the conclusion of the hackathon, the steering commission will pick 3 teams who will be supported for a 3-month period to implement their projects to encourage them to create start-ups.
Prizes varying from one thousand to three thousand dinars will be bestowed to the winners.
