Tunisia-Notable increase in filling level of Northern dams

The hydraulic reserves of the 22 dams in the North spread across Jendouba, Béja, Kef, Siliana and Bizerte, as of April 12, 2024, amounted to about 787.610 million m³, or 43.7% of the total capacity of these dams, following the latest rain. Therefore, the reserves of the “Barbara” dam in Fernana, in the governorate of Jendouba, surpassed 98.7% of its full capacity estimated at 59.759 million m³ water, while the water reserve of the Zarga dam in the governorate of reached 94.5% of the total capacity of the dam or 22.924 million m³, L’Onagri declared on Friday. Similarly, the Béni Metir dam posted a filling rate of more than 68.1%, while the Gamgoum dam (13.948 million m³) documented a filling rate of 76.2%, according to the same source.
