The Free Destourian Party (PDL) rejected the invitation of Prime Minister-designate Hichem Mechichi on discussions to form the future government.
“The PDL is in no way concerned with portfolios in the next government,” the party said in a statement Monday.
The party declined any consultation that would include representatives of the “Muslim Brotherhood organisation,” referring to Ennahdha movement.
The PDL will interact positively with any government composition comprising the various civic forces and excluding Ennahdha.
The party will be open to the formation of a government with independent experts; “until we see the first blueprint of this new government, we are unable to respond to the invitation.
We still hope that Mechichi makes the right call to readjust the destructive processes,” the statement said.
