Tunisia-PM Mechichi:Governors were given greater role in taking all measures that would limit the spread of COVID-19

Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi highlighted that a prominent role has been given to the governors in exercising all measures that would limit the spread of the pandemic, each according to the level of the virus outbreak in his area and according to the nature of its peculiarities.

Speaking at Today briefing on the progress of work in the operations hall in the National Guard barracks in Aouina, the PM added that this function is to stimulate the measures that have been taken, the most important of which is the curfew and the prevention of activities including gathering places such as cafes, as well as wearing a mask.

In his intervention before the Ministers of Defense, Interior, Health, Education, Higher Education, Local Affairs and the Environment, and 24 governors who participated remotely, Mechichi indicated that all attendees have the authority to decide and have the possibility of immediate intervention to deal with any difficulty that occurs at the level of implementation of the measures required to besiege the pandemic.
