| President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Kais Saied paid a visit to the Fondouk Jedid Military Academy in the governorate of Nabeul where he was seen in, on his arrival, by Minister of National Defense Imed Hazgui, the commander of the Military Academy and members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
On this occasion, the Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to respect for legitimacy and the law as a reference, stressing that “sharing the break of the fast with the officers of the military and security institutions is not an introduction to anything as some parties assume”. “We were not and will not be supporters of political chaos, but it is the right of every citizen to demand that legality be associated with popular legitimacy,” he added. According to a statement by the presidency of the Republic, this visit was an opportunity for the head of state to learn, through a theoretical presentation, about the training at the military academy and the final projects developed by cadets. While reiterating the importance of providing the necessary supervision to the military and their families, Saied praised the achievements made by the military institution and the efforts made in all fields to support the civil authorities, citing as an example the installation of a mobile military hospital in the governorate of Kebili. The Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces subsequently visited the Martyrs’ Garden at the Academy, where he laid a wreath of flowers and recited the Fatiha. |
