The President of the Republic, Kais Saied received a group of MP at Carthage presidential palace to address the current political situation in the country, in special with regard to the crisis connected to the cabinet reshuffle as well as the resolutions offered for it to exit.
During the meeting, the president largely asserted on respect for the supremacy of the Constitution and laws as well as respect for state institutions. He restated that the cabinet reshuffle is marred by various violations.
The Head of State accentuated that the solution lies in upholding the provisions of the Constitution and not in seeking Fatwa and other unworkable legal solutions.
He also added, in response to the latest statements by house speaker Rached Ghannouchi, that the role that the Constitution grants to the President of the Republic are far from symbolic.
