Tunisia-Referendum boycotters have no right to appeal

The preliminary results were finally declared late yesterday evening. In the event of an appeal, it takes a month to reveal the final results. To this end, the spokesman of the Administrative Court Imed Ghabri recalled that only those who partook in the referendum and its campaign can appeal against its results, unlike boycotters.

In the event of a non-appeal, he further clarified, that the final results will be announced at the end of July. The Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) reported, on the evening of Tuesday, July 26, 2022, the preliminary results of the referendum. It was the president of the ISIE, Farouk Bouasker, who announced these results, reflecting that 2,830,490 voters among the 9,278,541 registered voters voted in the 11,614 polling stations.

As such, 2,756,607 votes were taken into account, of which 2,607,848 voted for the draft new constitution (94.60%) and 148,723 voted against (5.40%).
