The agents and executives of the Technical Agency of Land Transport(ATTT) in Sfax has proceeded with their open si-in on Monday, April 19, 2021, to protest the non-implementation of the accords approved with the Ministry of Transport.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, the secretary-general of the grassroots union of the Agency, Fayhi Mayel stressed that today they are beginning their second week of the open strike to condemn the non-application of numerous minutes with the supervisory authority and the general management of the Agency.
He evoked that since 2018, they have commanded the activation of these agreements, stipulating that they have frequently issued strike notices for two days last January then a three days of strike in addition to six conciliation meetings in the governorate of Sfax which didn’t succeed.
The official said the agents were furious at the rejection of the government presidency and the supervisory authorities to execute the agreements, which incited them to go on open strike.
He emphasised that for several months they have not had a regional director at the Agency in Sfax which deadens the institution work, decrying the fact that they have the lowest bonuses while they finance other transport agencies in the country.
A deputy representing Sfax deplored the authorities’ lack of response and their nonchalance attitude as well as procrastination with regard to the country’s problems, ensuring that he will contact the Minister of Transport to inquire about the situation.
Agency officials stated there is no answer from management to their cases, ensuring they wait until their demands are satisfied.
