The Regional Labour Union of Sidi Bouzid announced December 17th an official holiday for all employees.
December 17th commemorates the Jasmine revolution ‘s 9th anniversary when Twenty-six-year-old Mohamed Bouazizi doused himself with a flammable liquid and set himself on fire, an event that proved to be the catalyst for the Tunisian Revolution and set the scene for the Arab Spring.
