Tunisia-Signing of a funding agreement of 200 million euros

A funding agreement of 200 million euros (nearly 653.3 million dinars) was inked this Saturday in Djerba, between Tunisia represented by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Saïed, and ‘The French Development Agency (AFD), represented by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna. This funding seeks to support the budget, as part of the implementation of the reform program.

On this occasion, Saïed assessed that this agreement affirms the disposition of France to continue its support for Tunisia in the execution of its reform programs, which will help the country to find its balance, reconnect with growth, and initiate a sustainable economic dynamic.

As such, he has clarified the main reforms initiated by the Tunisian government, in particular those relating to the improvement of the business climate, the release of the initiative, the improvement of the management of public projects, reiterating commitment to strengthen bilateral partnership with France in the common interest of the two countries.

For her part, the French Minister has stressed the solidity of relations between the two countries, stressing the significance of the reform program set up by Tunisia and which will help the country to gradually overcome, the socio-economic difficulties that it crosses.
