Vice president of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) Amira Mohamed, asserted the presence of a desire to marginalize, impoverish and starve Tunisian journalists.
In a statement to Shems FM, she expressed that journalism is a noble profession which needs legislation to protect journalists and ensure their economic and social rights.
Many journalists are in a defenceless situation, even within public media institutions. There are even journalists who exercise their profession for a salary of 300 dinars, she added.
“The laws implement to everyone except this sector,” she maintained.
