The UGTT secretary-general Noureddine Taboubi, confirmed that he received a phone call yesterday from prime minister Najla Bouden after his meeting with an IMF delegation and that she was enraged, in his words. “prime minister Najla Bouden called me and she was angry because she worried the negotiation with the IMF would be lost,” he said.
During the work of the UGTT regional congress in Monastir, Taboubi added that “the UGTT will not be the stick to beat people…We will not be a false witnesses…It is essential to agree with the IMF like the rest of the nations because of the ordeals the country is going through, but these difficulties will not be borne by the UGTT, he said.
