Speaking at a press conference held this Saturday, March 26, 2022, the Minister of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine, declared the lifting of close security protection for 25 personalities including businessmen, reporters, politicians and members whose activities are frozen.
Charfeddine added that it was impossible to keep this protection when several regions and neighbourhoods require security and equipment. He explained that the deployment of security forces in this type of measure is expensive for the Ministry of the Interior and the State in general.
