Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, president of the Free Destourien Party, Abir Moussi cautioned against the potential for fraud that could be generated by allowing remote voting to the House of People’s Representatives, .
Ms Moussi demonstrated that this method does not ensure the personal nature of the vote and unlocks the doors to a “Mercato”. Anyone with access to the login and password can vote in place of the deputy.
The deputy evoked that 150,000 dinars had been offered to attract a member to one of the parliamentary blocs, stating that with distance voting, this practice could become commonplace.
