Today the southern regions of Medenine, Tataouine, Ghomrassen and Zarzis, witnessed shutdowns and considerable disturbances in local water supplies. The SONEDE “National Water Distribution Utility” declared that these unusual disturbances were due to a cut off in the electrical voltage that supplies pumping stations and wells.
The STEG”Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas” is carefully working; in order to restore power to these facilities. Moreover, the SONEDE has promised to resume water distribution in these areas as soon as possible, starting tonight.
