The Ukrainian government rejected on Monday Russia’s proposal to open humanitarian corridors to allow citizens to leave Ukraine. The corridors should be opened in Kiev, Kharkov, Sumy and Mariupol, but they would only allow people to go to Russia and Belarus.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said Russia’s proposal is an “unacceptable option” and that Ukraine sent Russia its own plan for humanitarian corridors. “We demand that Russia accept our route options and establish a ceasefire as agreed,” she stated.
