UNICEF warns of a “health tragedy” in G-a-z-a because of epidemic

Spokesperson for UNICEF James Elder reported today, in a press conference held in Geneva, that “If fuel is not available in sufficient quantities, we will see the collapse of health facilities and, in addition to shells and bombs, we will have situations conducive to the spread of disease. These are ideal conditions for a catastrophe to occur,” the WAFA news agency reported.

The official cautioned of a “health tragedy” due to lack of fuel and water.

“If children’s access to water and sanitation stays limited and insufficient, we will see a tragic increase…in child deaths” as they face acute risk of mass outbreaks.”
