When is first day of Ramadan 2024?

As Ramadan 2024 nears, the Egyptian National Center for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, specializing in astronomical studies, has reported that the first day of Ramadan in the Hijri year 1445 will fall on March 11, 2024. Dr. Gad Al-Qadi, Director of the Egyptian National Institute, said that Ramadan is expected to last for 30 days this year.

The determination of the beginning art date is based on significant astronomical calculations that rely on lunar cycles, which form the basis of the Muslim calendar. The International Center for Astronomy has also confirmed this date, adding geographical precision. According to their information, March 11, 2024, will mark the start of Ramadan 1445 for countries located in the left hemisphere of the Earth, while March 12 will be the first day for countries to the right of the Greenwich meridian.
