The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has been detected in 38 countries so far.
“We do see an increasing growth rate, we see increasing numbers of Omicron being detected,” WHO’s COVID-19 Technical Lead Maria van Kerkhove, but noted the Delta variant is still the dominant one at a global level.
