AFCON history (1): information, statistics and different AFCON records (videos)

From January 13 and, the Eagles of Carthage, like the other major teams of the continent namely Senegal, Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, will also have a look at some records to be broken in this contest born in 1957.

– Top scorer: Samuel Eto’o (CMR): 18 goals

– Most successful players: 4 titles for Essam al-Hadary (EGY/1998, 2006, 2008, 2010) and Ahmed Hassan (EGY/1998, 2006, 2008, 2010);

– Largest victory: 6-1 (Côte d’Ivoire-Ethiopia, group stage in 1970) and 5-0 (Côte d’Ivoire-Guinea, quarter-final in 2008);

– Fastest goal: 23rd second by Ayman Mansour for Egypt (4-0 against Gabon, group stage in 1994).
