A strong 7.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Vanuatu on Sunday, according to data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicentre of the quake was some 23 kilometres west-north-west of the village of Port Olry, which is home to an estimated population of 1,300. The tremor struck at a depth of about 27.7 kilometres and there is no news about any casualties as of yet.
