Afek Tounes voiced, in a statement published on Friday, February 3, 2023, its support for the Tunisian Labor Union (UGTT) “in the face of repressive practices and the restrictions to which it is exposed”.
The party likewise denounces the use of judicial and security bodies to confiscate the union law secured by the Constitution and international pacts.
Afek denounced the arrogance and denial that the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, and who embodied in the popular boycott of the legislative elections to lose all legitimacy whether it is his project or his simulacrum of parliament.
The party condemns the use of state institutions to menace national organizations and the opposition and accuses them of betrayal, reminding these institutions that they are required to respect the principles of political neutrality and republican security values.
