Tunisia-List of Beaches unsuitable for swimming

The special unit for monitoring seawater at the Ministry of Health has just concluded that 71% of Tunisian beaches have good water quality for swimming.

According to the results of the analyses, 21 beaches are unfit.

– Governorate of Tunis: beach between Marsa-Gammarth and Raoued plage.

– Governorate of Ben Arous: 100m south-east of Marouen beach in Rades, the beach next to Rades chemical plant, the beach in the vicinity of the Rades waste dump next to Oued Meliane, south of the dump from Oued Meliane to Ezzahra, the coast around the wadi Maizet depot and Oued Boukhamsa to Ezzahra, the coast along Aziza Othmana street to Hammam Lif, the old Echaabiya depot and the Oued Aycha depot to Hammam Lif.

– Governorate of Bizerte: Baali beach in Menzel Jemil, the fishing port and Sidi Al Hachani in Menzel Abderrahmane.

– Governorate of Nabeul: the beach, before the sewage treatment plant (SE4) in Dar Chaâbane, the beach of Oued Al Hajjaar in Kelibia and the coast before the technological centre of Soliman.
– Governorate of Gabrs: 4 beaches are inappropriate for swimming according to the ministry: Al Salam beach, the one next to the Oued Kadim depot, Sirta beach and Oued Tin beach in Ghannouche.
