The secretary-general of the UGTT, Noureddine Taboubi, said during a speech given on the occasion of the proceedings of a conference that Tunisia has the lowest wages and does not take into account the purchasing power of Tunisians. Taboubi referred to the administration advocated decision to freeze civil service salaries for 5 years, emphasising that the union will not backstab the homeland and workers and that it stands ready for confrontation if the government chooses this path.
