Tunisia-Ounaies :Meloni’s initiative considered step forward in immigration file

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has launched an initiative for the second time, representing a notable step forward for parties implicated in the migration issue in both the north and south. This move comes as Europe reviews its proposed solutions to address the migration crisis.

Speaking today to Tunisie Numérique, former diplomat Ahmed Ounaies indicated that southern nations have also progressed by resisting the dominance of northern countries. This includes fostering collaboration between African nations and different parties without relying on contracts or intermediaries.

The speaker stressed that the Rome symposium, held on the 28th and 29th, concentrated on learning from the relationship between African and European countries. Discussions revolved around fostering a new and diverse culture of trust between Meloni and the African nations concerned with migration.

The same source revealed that the recent symposium in Rome was instrumental in explaining several aspects of the Europe-Africa relationship, especially in terms of negotiations related to immigration. Both parties are now dedicated to fulfilling concrete results. The upcoming session in Tunisia will further reinforce cooperation and mutual respect between the two continents.

Ounaies highlighted that overcoming the migration phenomenon requires more than government efforts alone. It necessitates bold, joint economic actions between African and European countries.
